REMNANTS OF SOMEONE DEAD IN THE BODY OF SOMEONE LIVING
2018
If techniques and skills are cultural phenomena, rooted in our social upbringing, our cultural education; can we locate a social perspective of our body sensations? our capacities to affect and effect changes within and around us.
Like gravity cannot be experienced without its manifestation…can we collectively experience our bodily senses without a manifestation in language?
Metaphors are bridges. From certain intensity of experience to the articulation of such experience, metaphors provide richness to the experiential realm of languages.
Language, a social and cultural phenomenon, is the only aspect that helps us articulate our sensory and physiological aspects of our selves. The body, as an entity of intensities, is a social manifestation.
A convulsion, an illness, a deformity, a skill, a capacity, can only be manifested in a language. The work explores such nuances that provide a meaningful interpretation of sensations and intensities.
