PRIMAL REMINDERS REGULARISING ROUTINES
2019
Set of 12 reading cards
Primal Reminders (Regularising Routines) provides glimpses of fragments; fragments created through an interplay of materials, images text and varying languages.
In a way, all materials and images are made around certain tools and processes of the craft of sewing.
But in another way, all these images lead to certain dense and opaque connections with aspects of our human body, the capacities of our bodies to perceive, process and create languages through the acts of socialization, repetition and routines.
The body, at one level, a biological entity becomes a social and cultural entity through regularization; achievements of crafts and language being residual to this circle of hermeneutics.
This biological entity, on the flip side, also loses its own readability and conjuring of meanings in constructed languages; through violent inflections, incoherent or incisive interventions or sharp medical aberrations.
The series of these reading cards attempts to frames these ironies and conundrums.
