INFLECTIONS (REFLECTIONS ON LAND)
(Series of 10 drawings)
2019
This series of drawings juxtaposes natural pigments, traditionally used in dyeing, as departures of primal stains. The series accumulates
associations of body, memory, shifting paradigms of class lifestyle and ‘ancestral debts’ of labour as well as liquidity of natural pigments as
starting point to create images. Continuing my search to frame sensations from materiality and social processes of the body, these
drawings frame prevailing notions of femininity.
